Christmas Carols From Around The World, Chosen By YOU!

The Christmas project will be JAM-PACKED with singing whether you're joining us in London or not!

As well as learning the stories behind FIVE fascinating Christmas pieces, there will be some nostalgic singing of past Christmas repertoire and a melody booklet of Christmas carols so you can sing your heart out! (harmonies encouraged - if you have a copy of Carols For Choirs, grab it now!)

The Christmas Project also includes invites to special festive events including a Global Social, Christmas Coffee Morning, Carol Singalongs and a new installation for 2022 - the Christmas Jumper Parade!

At the end of December, you can :

Please note there is no recording element to this project.

  • What Resources Will Be Available

Learning tracks will be released on uMix, our special programme which allows you to mix your own blend of parts to practice.

Scores will be available for the five pieces we're learning in detail.

We will also be releasing a PDF melody booklet of carols. If singers would like to join in with harmony parts they are encouraged to bring their own carol books.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the large volume of repertoire for this project and quick turnaround for programming, learning resources will have a piano sound rather than a recorded professional singer for this project.

FAQs

  • Is there any recording for this project?

This project is a live concert in London. You will practice the music online. The concert will be a mixture of carols chosen by the choir and performed by a professional choir, and other music performed by everyone!

  • I'm unable to join the live rehearsals, can I watch them back later?

Yes! All of our projects are streamed live to Youtube. You can join in live in Zoom or on Youtube and all rehearsals will be made available to watch back as many times as you like. (usually within 24 hours)

  • I'm coming to the concert - do I need to print a ticket?

No. We are operating a ticketless admissions system for the concert, everyone who has purchased a live event ticket will have their name on our guest list on the door.

  • I bought access for online-only but can now come to the concert in person, can I upgrade my ticket?

Yes, there will be the option to buy an in-person add-on in the project player once the project is live. Provided there are tickets still available, we will also offer upgrades on the door on the 20th December. These will be priced at £8 (the difference between the two ticket prices).

  • Can I buy tickets for my friends & family to attend the concert in London?

Yes. More information will be released shortly. You will also be able to buy tickets on the door.

  • I've not sung in an in-person choir before and don't have much/any choir experience, can I still take part?

Absolutely! However, be aware that this format includes more music than previous projects, some simple carols, some from past projects and some that is yet to be chosen. With only 1 month until the event it may pose a challenge to some to learn all the pieces in that time.
    HOWEVER,
the event is an online stream and concert, if you wish to simply attend as an audience member, you are more than welcome to do so!

  • Do I need to be an SAHC Subscriber to join this project?

No you don't! Anyone can join this project at any time while the project is open. Subscribers have access to additional workshop content separate from our regular projects; and also receive a 20% discount on all projects. See this page for more information.
